Retrospective
Our thesis is simple: tell compelling stories that finds the superfans that wish to connect with the work in the form of digital NFT memorabilia and through that support the storytellers.
For the first foray, we are really happy with the result and it gives us renewed energy to keep creating new stories & expanding the stories yet to be told!
100 Deluxe & 60 Default Certificates were sold to 95 Fans, earning Untitled Frontier ~$12k in revenue.
What does this mean?
We’re under no pretence that NFTs can exist in a hype cycle. A short story + its own digital merch earning $12k, is on its own, unprecedented. We do, however, fundamentally believe, that this model of accessible stories + selling NFTs related to the stories is a model that enables more storytellers to tell more stories and more fans to connect with wildly wonderful worlds. It’s a new form of patronage that’s a win for both the storytellers and the fans.
Experimenting with NFTs & media is incredibly broad and what ends up being a successful and replicable model for storytellers and their fans is also why we are here: to explore at this untitled frontier. For the first season of “The Logged Universe” (a story universe of a future humanity with simulated minds), we will produce 6 stories with a relatively similar model: compelling short sci-fi and a collection of unique, generative art NFTs per story.
Coming Up!
The Logged Universe #2 is written by Nathan Chen and follows an old captain on the prowl for a thief that stole the paintings of his son. The cover art is by Simon Wairiuko.
